Scope of Appropriation
This appropriation is limited to detecting, investigating and prosecuting serious financial crimes by the Serious Fraud Office, and includes activities directed at making the commission of financial crimes more difficult, and detection and prosecution more effective.

Reasons for Change in Appropriation
The appropriation has increased by $41,000 to $9.548 million for 2015/16 due to:
- $56,000 increase, to recognise new co-location arrangements with Crown Law Office
- $15,000 reduction, being the Serious Fraud Office's baseline contribution to the Budget 2015 System Package agreed by Cabinet on 17 August 2015 (CAB-15-MIN-0007.01).

Reasons for Change in Appropriation
This appropriation has increased by $125,000 to $225,000 for 2015/16, due to leasehold improvements to the Serious Fraud Office's premises in Queen Street, Auckland, required to make available additional office space to Crown Law Office under a new co-location agreement, effective from 9 November 2015 to 3 March 2023.
