Part 2.1 - Departmental Output Expenses#

Support Services to Ministers (M47)

Scope of Appropriation

Support services for Ministers, including office administration, accounting, personnel, information technology, facilities management, media and advisory services. The management of residential accommodation provided for Ministers of the Crown, both owned and leased property.

Reasons for Change in Appropriation

This appropriation will increase by $173,000 to $26.894 million for 2007/08. The increase relates to an expense transfer from 2006/07 for the Upgrade of information and Technology Infrastructure ($89,000) and a reallocation of corporate overhead ($84,000).

VIP Transport (M47)#

Scope of Appropriation#

The provision of chauffeur-driven vehicle services for Ministers, the Leader of the Opposition, former Prime Ministers and their spouses, former Governors-General and their spouses, the judiciary, distinguished visitors; and self-drive vehicles for Ministers.

Reasons for Change in Appropriation#

This appropriation will increase by $118,000 to $7.311 million for 2007/08. The increase relates to an increase in demand ($100,000) and an expense transfer from 2006/07 for the Upgrade of Information and Technology Infrastructure ($18,000).

Visits and Official Events Coordination (M47)#

Scope of Appropriation#

The provision of services to manage programmes for visiting guests of Government; receptions at international airports for the Governor-General, Ministers and guests of Government; State and ministerial functions; commemorative events; and national anniversaries.

Reasons for Change in Appropriation#

This appropriation will increase by $2.320 million to $5.762 million for 2007/08. The increase relates to additional funding for the guests of government programme ($1.400 million), an increase in funding for Sir Edmund Hillary's Funeral and Memorial Service Costs ($900,000), an expense transfer from 2006/07 for the Upgrade of information and Technology Infrastructure ($11,000) and reallocation of corporate overhead ($9,000).

This appropriation will increase by $20,000 to $400,000 for 2007/08. The increase relates to an increase in costs as a result of the Parliamentary Annuities Determination 2007.

This appropriation will increase by $190,000 to $7.190 million for 2007/08. The increase relates to an increase in costs as a result of the Parliamentary Salaries Determination 2007.

Ministers' Internal and External Travel (M47)#

Scope of Appropriation#

Payments for civil purposes for Ministers' internal and external travel, pursuant to section 20A of the Civil List Act 1979.

Reasons for Change in Appropriation#

This appropriation will increase by $379,000 to $10.440 million for 2007/08. The increase relates to an increase in funding for ministerial travel pursuant to section 20A of the Civil List Act 1979.

Travel for Former Governors-General and Prime Ministers (M47)#

Scope of Appropriation#

Payments for civil purposes, pursuant to section 25 of the Civil List Act 1979.

Reasons for Change in Appropriation#

This appropriation will increase by $120,000 to $520,000 for 2007/08. The increase relates to an increase in costs, pursuant to section 25 of the Civil List Act 1979.
