Regulatory Impact Assessment: Improving the workability of the physical restraint legislative framework

As of 1 May 2024 the Treasury's regulatory functions, including responsibility for the public service regulatory management system, have transferred to the new Ministry for Regulation. Information relating to these functions is now available on the Ministry for Regulation website.

All Regulatory Impact Statements, including this one, will soon be unpublished from the Treasury website.

  • Legislation: The Education and Training Bill incorporates and replaces the Education Acts of 1964 and 1989, and also incorporates the Education (Pastoral Care) Amendment Bill and the Education (Vocational Education and Training Reform) Amendment Bill. Both these latter Bills are currently before Parliament.
