The economic effects of COVID-19, and the corresponding alert level restrictions and support measures that have been put in place, are becoming clearer. We now have more information available to refine our earlier estimates of the economic impacts of the country (or portions of it) being at various alert levels.
Between 3 March and 12 March 2021, officials from the Treasury met with a range of businesses and other organisations to discuss the outlook for the economy. These 'business talks' form part of the Treasury's preparation for its Economic and Fiscal Updates (EFUs), the next one being published with Budget 2021.
