Issues paper and final report of the Tax Review 2001.
The Tax Review was appointed to carry out a public review into the tax system. The functions of the Tax Review were to examine and inquire into the structure and effects of the tax system in New Zealand; to formulate proposals for improving that system, either by way of making changes to the system, abolishing any existing form of tax, or introducing new forms of tax; and to report to Parliament through the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Revenue and the Minister of Economic Development.
The Tax Review's issues paper and its final report are available here.
The Tax Review 2001 web site has been disestablished. Submissions to the review are no longer available on the Treasury's web site but may be requested from Information Services at the Treasury.
