Sense Partners was commissioned by the Treasury to provide alternative population and migration forecasts.
In February 2018, Sense Partners was asked to provide the New Zealand Treasury with forecasts for migration and population based on several methods. This note documents the methodology and presents the findings of Sense Partners. The note provides forecasts for (i) total population, (ii) working age population, (iii) net migration, and (iv) emigration and immigration flows.
