This proactive release is for: Periodic Review of New Zealand Green Investment Finance.

New Zealand’s green investment bank, New Zealand Green Investment Finance (‘NZGIF’), was established in 2019 with a purpose to “accelerate investment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in New Zealand”.

Ernst & Young (EY) was engaged to support the Treasury with an independent periodic review of NZGIF, mandated by Cabinet every five years, particularly through a:

  • performance review to assess NZGIF’s effectiveness in fulfilling its purpose and objective, and
  • strategic review to assess whether NZGIF’s purpose and objectives are relevant and setting the organisation up for success.
