This proactive release contains official information in relation to an entity form review, undertaken by the Treasury and the Ministry of Transport, of KiwiRail Holdings Limited and New Zealand Railways Corporation.
The release includes the Terms of Reference of the review, the two joint departmental briefings provided to Ministers while the review was underway, and Ministers' subsequent letter to the Chair of KiwiRail Holdings Limited and New Zealand Railways Corporation advising of Ministers' decision.
Please note the cover sheet of document T2022/633 refers to Ministers’ feedback on ownership objectives for KiwiRail, and the fact that a Cabinet paper was ultimately not prepared.
