Funding of Passenger Clearance Services Information Release

In May 2005 the Treasury released documents relating to the government's consultation on the funding of passenger clearance services at New Zealand's international airports that was carried out in 2004 and 2005.

Hon Dr Michael Cullen announced in a media statement - Passenger clearance costs to be fairly shared (13 April 2005) - that passenger clearance service costs at New Zealand’s seven international airports would be split around 50:50 between the government and industry and equally among passengers, according to a funding formula agreed to by Cabinet.
