In September 2007 the Treasury and the Department of Corrections released a commissioned report identifying options for cost reductions in future prison construction.

A report commissioned by the Treasury and the Department of Corrections from consultants Evans and Peck has identified a number of options to be considered in any attempt to reduce costs in future prison construction.
