Guidance and information on Crown entities' financial powers.

The financial powers provisions of the Crown Entities Act 2004 apply from the following dates:

• bank accounts – 25 July 2005; and
• other financial powers (acquisition of securities, borrowing, giving of guarantees and indemnities, and use of derivatives) – 1 April 2005.

Generally, the provisions apply to Crown entities (unless exempted or subject to specific provisions in their own Act) and may apply to organisations named or described in Schedule 4 of the Public Finance Act 1989.
