Discontinued work programme

Benchmarking Administrative and Support Services (BASS) (2011-2018)

The Treasury has compiled key material relating to the discontinued Benchmarking Administrative and Support Services (BASS) work programme.

The purpose of the Benchmarking Administrative and Support Services (BASS) programme was to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative and support services across public sector agencies by comparing these services across departments against a set of benchmarks.

The benchmarking was discontinued as the ongoing costs of data collection and reporting outweighed the benefits to be gained from continuing this programme.
