Abstract
With biodiversity declining faster than at any time in human history, nature's resilience is being severely eroded. Preserving nature and biodiversity is now seen as important as, and closely related to, climate change mitigation and adaptation. There are many opportunities to leverage nature as infrastructure, integrate nature-based solutions into infrastructure development.
In this seminar, Erik Berglöf, Chief Economist of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), will present findings from the AIIB 2023 Asian Infrastructure Finance Report, analysing how nature affects development, and how development (including in infrastructure) can be done more sustainably to safeguard nature.
