Feedback is sought on the indicators the Treasury uses to inform its advice to the Government on policy priorities for improving wellbeing, such as advice on Budget priorities, and for wellbeing reporting.
With a refreshed Living Standards Framework (LSF) published in October, the next step is to update the LSF Dashboard to reflect the new and revised parts of the framework. As well as informing policy advice more generally, the Dashboard will provide the indicators that the Treasury will use to inform the development of its first Wellbeing Report in 2022, which is now required every four years under the Public Finance Act.
The detailed Treasury paper on the 2021 LSF provides an outline of the new framework and analysis of proposed indicators (see Appendix 2). We're seeking comments on the draft indicators, and ideas on other indicators, that might help us to better understand wellbeing in Aotearoa New Zealand.
