The Climate Change Chief Executives Board was established to:
- co-ordinate implementation of New Zealand’s emissions reduction plan, including implementation of cross-agency actions and strategies,
- monitor and report on overall progress towards achieving the emissions reduction plan, including sector sub-targets,
- provide advice to Ministers in relation to the emissions reduction plan, and
- undertake the existing functions of the Climate Change Chief Executives Board that was established by Cabinet.
