Partnering with the private sector, who provide investment capital, and design and delivery expertise, can produce great outcomes for the people of NZ, including innovation, reduced costings, and the opportunity to reduce risk. Altogether this can enable better value for money compared with government sector delivery.
These partnerships are long term and involve strong collaboration between the public and private sectors. Opportunities for these partnerships can be led by government, procured using a Public Private Partnership (‘PPP’) model or lease arrangement; or led by the market, as a Market-led Proposal (‘MLP’).
