Why performance advice is important
Crown-owned companies and entities provide many of the goods and services that New Zealanders use every day.
The Treasury advises Ministers on setting expectations for company and entity boards and on their performance, with a focus on enhancing the value of the Crown’s ownership interest. The Treasury also manages the process to appoint directors on behalf of Ministers. Appointing board members with the right skills and assessing performance will help improve the contribution of those companies and entities to well-being and economic efficiency.
