Data released in April provided further insight into the effects on the New Zealand economy of the devastating February earthquake. While the earthquake has caused considerable disruption to economic activity in Canterbury, business confidence elsewhere has rebounded supporting our view that the New Zealand economy continues to recover, albeit gradually.
