Independent Review of the Operation of Monetary Policy 2001

Report of Professor Lars Svensson who was commissioned by the Government in May 2000 to conduct an independent review of the operation of monetary policy in New Zealand.
Professor Svensson's report was presented to the Minister of Finance in February 2001 and released in March 2001. The Government responded to the Review's recommendations in August 2001.
The web site of the Independent Review of the Operation of Monetary Policy has been disestablished. Submissions to the review are no longer available on the Treasury's web site but may be requested from Information Services at the Treasury.
