Policy Perspectives Papers

Introduction to the Treasury Policy Perspectives Papers series published by the Treasury.

Policy Perspectives Papers bring ideas, analysis and empirical research to bear on topical policy issues. They seek to share important insights from economic literature, international policy experience, and Treasury research in a manner that is accessible to non-specialist audiences. The papers do not themselves represent policy advice, nor do they represent the Treasury's view - see the Disclaimer for Working Papers and Policy Perspectives Papers.

See the 2009, 2007, 2006 and 2005 lists of Policy Perspectives Papers that have been published to date.

The latest Policy Perspectives Paper was published in August 2009: Spending through the Tax System: Tax Expenditures (PP 09/01) by Craig Fookes.

Please note that these papers are electronic publications - the Treasury does not provide printed copies. However, Information Services at the Treasury holds a printed copy of each paper and these can be borrowed through the interloan system (contact your local library).

Policy Perspectives Papers each have a reference number indicating the year and sequence it was published e.g. PP 06/02 was the second Policy Perspectives Paper published in 2006.
