The Treasury Appoints New Deputy Secretary

Secretary to the Treasury, Gabriel Makhlouf today announced the appointment of Struan Little as Deputy Secretary, Budget and Public Services.

"I'm delighted to welcome Struan back to the Treasury and to this important role," Mr Makhlouf said.

Mr Little will lead the Treasury’s work on improving state sector performance and stewardship of the government’s finances.

"Struan's prior knowledge of the Treasury, combined with his recent work at Inland Revenue driving one of the most significant change programmes in the public service make him an invaluable addition to the Treasury’s leadership team,” says Mr Makhlouf.

Most recently, Mr Little has held the role of Deputy Commissioner, Policy and Strategy at Inland Revenue. Prior to this he has held a range of senior positions at the Treasury, Ministry of Education, and the World Bank.

Mr Little joins the Treasury on 5 September and succeeds Fiona Ross as she takes on the position of Chief Operating Officer.
