The Treasury Releases Analysis of At-risk Youth Data

The Treasury has released findings from an analysis of integrated administrative data which aims to identify the risk factors for young people aged 15 to 24 who are most at risk of poor long-term outcomes.

This work is part of a broader emphasis by government agencies to use an evidence-based approach to target services more effectively towards those most at need.

This 'social investment' approach to decision-making uses information and technology to identify and understand the needs of those people whose long-term outcomes would benefit from additional early investment.

The report, entitled Using Integrated Administrative Data to Identify Youth Who Are at Risk of Poor Outcomes as Adults, an A3 created by the Ministry of Education and a full set of data tables can be found at: http://www.treasury.govt.nz/publications/research-policy/ap/2015/15-02
