Deborah Wince-Smith

Deborah L Wince-Smith, President of the (US) Council on Competitiveness, will discuss the seismic shifts that are reshaping the competitive landscape. These changes are creating an innovation imperative that advanced nations must answer to maintain their competitiveness and standard of living in the new global environment.  Deborah Wince-Smith will discuss fields that are especially promising for innovation and what countries can do to take advantage of these opportunities.

Wince-Smith is the president and CEO of the (US) Council on Competitiveness. Founded in 1986, this unique business-labour-academia coalition recommends actionable public policy solutions to make the United States more competitive in the global marketplace.

Wince-Smith is internationally renowned as a leading voice on competitiveness, innovation strategy, science and technology policy, energy, education, economics and business. As president of the Council, she spearheaded the groundbreaking National Innovation Initiative, which played a pivotal role in creating a reinvigorated US competitiveness movement.
