Regular Reviews - Treasury's Forecasting Performance Information Releases

Page updated 10 Jun 2013

The Treasury carries out regular analysis of its economic forecasting performance and has released reports on the results. The latest full report was released in July 2011.

The tables and charts from that report have been updated with data to the end of 2012 and can be found in Analysis of the Treasury's Macroeconomic and Tax Forecast Accuracy. The findings of the July 2011 report remain valid, including that the Treasury is amongst the top one or two forecasters of New Zealand’s economic growth and CPI inflation.

Note that the Reviews and Steps to Improve Forecast Accuracy information release includes material from 2005 and 2007 that supplements these regular reviews.
