This document replaces Preparing Reports on Non-departmental Appropriations Guidance and Requirements for Administering Departments published in August 2012.

The changes to the guidance this year are:

  • Information on the format of the hard copies of the Section 32A reports to be provided to the Treasury has been clarified i.e. double-sided black and white copies with one staple in the top left hand corner is sufficient as the reports need to be collated by the Treasury into one document for Parliament (see section 1.2.3.3).
  • Clarified that the PDF version of the Section 32A report, which is sent to the Treasury for electronic publication, does not need to be signed by the Minister responsible for the report (see section 1.4)
  • The list of appropriations and classes of outputs subject to section 32A of the Public Finance Act 1989 (PFA) provided in the appendices have been updated to include:
  • any changes and additions for the 2012/13 financial year (see Appendix 1), and
  • a list for the 2013/14 financial year, as known on 16 May 2013 - Budget Day (see Appendix 2).
