Preparing the Annual Report - Technical and Process Guide for Departments

3.8 Legislative requirements for specific departments

Some departments are required by legislation to include additional specific matters in their annual report. For example, under section 65 of the Police Act 1958, the annual report for the Police must include:

  • the number of occasions on which the Police used an interception device, and
  • the number of road blocks authorised, and the reason for the authorisations.
  • Departments need to be aware of additional reporting obligations they, or any statutory bodies or officers attached to the department, may have in specific statutes they administer.
