Development Pipeline Funding
Page updated 10 Jun 2011
As part of Budget 2011, a new ‘Better Services for Less Development Pipeline Fund’ has been established to test the value of using development pipelines to explore savings ideas that have broad application across a range of government agencies.
The purpose of the fund is to increase the flow of ideas with good potential to generate cashable savings or significant improvements in efficiency or effectiveness. This funding supports the development of ideas from initial research for the early proposal through to full business case development.
Management of ideas through the development pipeline will be supported by the Cross-Agency Programme Management Office (CA PMO) at Treasury. Decisions on the release of funding from the tagged contingency will be made by Ministers, with advice and recommendations from the Chief Executive's Group on Government Business Reform.
The Accessing Development Pipeline Funding: Process Guide for Government Agencies document provides further detail, including the process that will be followed for applications to access the fund. The Development Pipeline Funding Application Form (an Annex to the Process Guide) is also available in Word format for agencies wishing to apply for access to the development pipeline funding.
Before making an application, agencies should discuss their proposal with the Cross-Agency Programme Management Office at Treasury.
