Winners of the Long-Term Fiscal Schools Challenge

The 13 Long-term Fiscal Challenge finalist teams came to Treasury on 31 May 2012 to present their proposed approach to New Zealand's long-term fiscal issues.
The winners for the 2012 Long-term Fiscal Schools Challenge are:

1st place: James Hargest College, Invercargill. Team members are Bligh Vergeer, Hadley van Schaik, Alice Milne, and Geena Billows.

2nd place: Otago Boys' High School. Team members are Edward Haslam, Nicholas Lorimer, Callum Sutherland, and Matthew Sutherland.

3rd place: Christchurch Girls' High School. Team members are Zoe Mackay, Tu Anh Nguyen, and Sarah Nelson.
Each member of the winning team will be awarded a scholarship valued at $2,000 to study at Victoria University.
Victoria University is also awarding each member of the first, second, and third placed teams an iPad valued at $800.
Victoria University is also awarding an iPad to the Best Speaker in the competition. Michael Moore-Jones of Scots College was awarded this prize.
