Infrastructure

Page updated 4 Mar 2010

Effective infrastructure is important to facilitating economic growth. The Government's objective is for New Zealand's infrastructure to be a means to permanently lift the sustainable growth rate of the economy, through increased productivity and improved management of Crown assets.

The National Infrastructure Unit website provides information on the roles of the National Infrastructure Unit and National Infrastructure Advisory Board, and information about the 20-year National Infrastructure Plan. The site also provides an overview of the infrastructure portfolio, responsible Ministers, recent media announcements, upcoming events, and other useful resources (including external links and previous research).

On 2 March 2010 the National Infrastructure Unit published the Government's first National Infrastructure Plan.
