Notes for the Historical Vote Information

Notes on Vote name changes, merging of Votes, establishment and disestablishment of Votes and other explanatory information for Votes in Budgets 1998 to date.

These notes appear in context on the pages for certain Votes where explanations are required. They cross-reference and link to related Votes where necessary.

1. From the Estimates of Appropriations 1999/00 - Budget 1999 Vote Accident Rehabilitation and Compensation Insurance was renamed to Vote Accident Insurance.

2. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2003/04 - Budget 2003 Vote Accident Insurance was renamed to Vote ACC.

5. From the Supplementary Estimates of Appropriations 1999/00 - Budget 2000 Vote Cultural Affairs was renamed to Vote Culture and Heritage.

8. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2008/09 - Budget 2008 Vote Climate Change and Energy Effeciency was renamed to Vote Climate Changeas the energy efficienecy appropriations were transferred toVote Energy.

9. From the Supplementary Estimates of Appropriations 1999/00 - Budget 2000 Vote Culture and Heritage (Internal Affairs) was established containing appropriations that were transferred from Vote Internal Affairs.

10. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2000/01 - Budget 2000 Vote Culture and Heritage (Internal Affairs) was renamed to Vote National Archives.

11. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2000/01 - Budget 2000 Vote National Library was renamed to Vote Culture and Heritage (National Library).

12. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2001/02 - Budget 2001 Vote Culture and Heritage (National Library) was renamed to Vote National Library.

13. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2002/03 - Budget 2002 Vote Economic Development and Vote Industry and Regional Developmentwere merged intoVote Economic, Industry and Regional Development.

14. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2008/09 - Budget 2008 Vote Economic, Industry and Regional Development was renamed to Vote Economic Development.

15. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2001/02 - Budget 2001 Vote Employment Policy was renamed to Vote Employment.

23. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2000/01 - Budget 2000 Vote Tertiary Education was merged into Vote Education.

24. From 1997/98 Vote Finance was split into Vote Treasurer and Vote Finance to reflect the responsibilities of the Treasurer and the Minister of Finance.

25. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2000/01 - Budget 2000 Vote Treasurer was merged into Vote Finance.

26. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2008/09 - Budget 2008 Vote Veterans' Affairs was split into Vote Veterans' Affairs - Defence Force and Vote Veterans' Affairs - Social Development.

27. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2004/05 - Budget 2004 Vote Youth Affairs was merged into Vote Youth Development.

29. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2008/09 - Budget 2008 Vote Child, Youth and Family Services was merged into Vote Social Development.

30. Note that apropros Vote Millennium , the Millennium Office was disestablished with effect from 28 January 2001.

31. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2001/02 - Budget 2001 Vote Business Development was merged into Vote Industry and Regional Development.

32. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2011/12 - Budget 2011 Vote Research, Science and Technology was renamed to Vote Science and Innovation.

33. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2011/12 - Budget 2011 Vote Education was split into Vote Tertiary Education and Vote Education.

34. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2011/12 - Budget 2011 Vote Crown Research Institutes was merged into Vote Finance.

35. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2011/12 - Budget 2011 Vote State-Owned Enterprises was merged into Vote Finance.

36. From the Estimates of Appropriations 1998/99 - Budget 1998 Vote Health Service Providers was a succesor vote following on from Vote Crown Health Enterprises.

37. For Budget 2011 Vote Canterbury Earthquake Recovery had additional Vote chapters in Volume Two: Addition to the Supplementary Estimates and Supporting Information.

38. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Community and Voluntary Sector was merged into Vote Internal Affairs.

39. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Emergency Management was merged into Vote Internal Affairs.

40. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Local Government was merged into Vote Internal Affairs.

41. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Ministerial Services was merged into Vote Internal Affairs.

42. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote National Archives was merged into Vote Internal Affairs.

43. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote National Library was merged into Vote Internal Affairs.

44. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Racing was merged into Vote Internal Affairs.

45. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2013 Vote Internal Affairs incorporated the following Votes: Community and Voluntary Sector, Emergency Management, Local Government, Ministerial Services, National Archives, National Library, Racing.

46. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Agriculture and Forestry was merged into a new Vote - Vote Primary Industries.

47. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Biosecurity was merged into a new Vote - Vote Primary Industries.

48. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Fisheries was merged into a new Vote - Vote Primary Industries.

49. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Primary Industries was created from a merge of several Votes: Agriculture and Forestry, Biosecurity and Fisheries.

50. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Climate Change was merged into Vote Environment.

51. From the Estimates of Appropriations 2012/13 - Budget 2012 Vote Youth Development was merged into Vote Social Development.
