This appropriation is limited to advice and representation on international development issues and the management of the New Zealand Official Development Assistance (ODA) programme.

Reasons for Change in Appropriation
This is a new appropriation established for 2011/12 and out years. Former departmental appropriations, Management of ODA Programme and Strategic Evaluation and Advice have been disestablished and transferred into this appropriation. This appropriation has increased by $117,000 to $61.359 million as a result of:
- an increase of $261,000 arising from foreign exchange movements, and
- a decrease of $144,000 due to lower depreciation arising from revaluation of the Ministry's overseas properties.
