Budget Policy Statement (BPS) 2012
The BPS 2012 sets out the overarching policy goals that will guide the government's Budget decisions and the government's priorities for the forthcoming Budget. The BPS is normally published conjointly with an Economic and Fiscal Update (EFU) in December, but because of the timing of the Pre-election Economic and Fiscal Update 2011 (25 October 2011) this did not happen in 2011. The BPS 2012 instead includes an Economic Outlook section prepared by the Treasury as a brief refresh of its most recent economic and fiscal forecasts in the Pre-election Economic and Fiscal Update 2011.
