Purpose of the Supplementary Estimates of Appropriations and Supporting Information
The Supplementary Estimates of Appropriations and Supporting Information (the Supplementary Estimates)provides members of Parliament with details of changes to existing appropriations and of new appropriations proposed since the Estimates for 2009/10 were finalised. The SupplementaryEstimates also shows proposed changes to departmental net asset balances.
While many of the appropriation and net asset balance changes will have already been given effect through the advance authority of Imprest Supply, they must still be specified in an Appropriation Act for the current financial year.
The Supplementary Estimates is presented to the House of Representatives on the same day as the government introduces a second Appropriations Bill for the current financial year.
