University Challenge 2016

The winner of the 2016 Treasury University Challenge was Karla Smith, a student at University of Canterbury majoring in economics. Karla’s winning essay argued for policies to address New Zealand’s current freshwater allocation scheme.

The four finalists in the Challenge were:

  • Karla Smith, studying economics at the University of Canterbury
  • Ashleigh Lee, studying a B.Com(hons) at the University of Auckland
  • Callum Lo, studying towards an LLB/B.Com at the University of Auckland
  • Anna Zam, studying towards an LLB/BA at the University of Auckland

This year we received entries from six New Zealand Universities.
