| Week beginning 15 April | Regional coaching Subject to numbers of participating teams, Treasury analysts will hold regional coaching sessions for participating teams, to further work through the issues with students and get teams started in assessing the options. It is recommended that students do some background reading before these sessions. Coaching material and videos will also be provided on the Schools Challenge facebook page. |

| Tuesday 14 May 2013 | Essays due at 5.00 p.m. All essays should be emailed to schoolschallenge@treasury.govt.nz |
| Monday 20 May 2013 | Finalists notified Top teams (up to 10 teams) will be notified and invited to present their recommendations to a panel of judges at Treasury in Wellington. |
| June 2013 | |
| Wednesday 19 June | Finals day in Wellington Finalist teams will travel to Wellington to present their proposals to a panel of judges including Treasury analysts and Victoria University professors. |
| Week beginning 24 June | Winners announced Winning teams will be notified and posted on the Schools Challenge website and facebook page. |
