Strategic Leadership Team (SLT)

Page updated 29 Oct 2009

John Whitehead, Secretary to the Treasury, and five Deputy Secretaries form the Treasury's Strategic Leadership Team.

As well as leading their respective organisational groups, the Treasury's five Deputy Secretaries have a wider role in shaping the organisation's strategic direction and corporate management. This work is carried out through the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT), made up of the five Deputy Secretaries and the Secretary to the Treasury.

Collectively, the SLT sets the results for Treasury as a whole, with the emphasis on strategic decision-making aimed at maximising organisational impact. The SLT provides senior-level internal and external leadership for the organisation and meets regularly to advise on and discuss Treasury priorities and broad resource allocation.

The SLT comprises John Whitehead (Secretary to the Treasury), Struan Little, Peter Bushnell, Angela Hauk-Willis, Peter Mersi and Mike James (Deputy Secretaries).
